Can I Make it Through? - The Birth
Only few mothers will say they didn’t think if they could make it through during pregnancy. There are doubts, fears, anxieties which includes; How will I make it through nine months? Will my baby survive it? What plans do I need to make for my baby when he/she finally arrives?
These and more are what naturally preoccupies a pregnant woman’s mind.
Fast forward the above to man (referring to both male and female). When it comes to issues that pertains to life especially when we are not certain about the future, we are tempted to want to have every signal turn green and the wind in our favour before we take a step. This is where I love Craig Groeschel - “the best way to find out if you can trust someone is to trust that person”. The best way to find out if you can trust God is to trust Him.
When you have a vision, a dream, a business plan, marriage that you want to start and the thoughts of how will it happen, you can trust God to bring to birth that which you are pregnant of:
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NIV
Note that the Bible said “He who began”. You didn’t start having that thought all by yourself, God implanted the thoughts in you. “He got you pregnant” with the vision, dream, business idea, marital thoughts e.t.c. If God started it, He will finish it. You can go in that confidence.
Did you notice, that as God continued with the work of creation, He look at the unfinished work and said “it was good” Genesis 1:10 NIV. He celebrated creation even before completion. As God takes you through the pregnancy period and the labour pain of birthing that which is in you, celebrate each step of the way.
Doubts will come, you may even experience failure (topic for another day), challenges will come, you will feel like giving up but do just one thing, look ahead like Jesus who “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2 NIV
I declare into your life, you will birth the great visions, dreams and aspirations inside of you and it will see the light of day in Jesus’ name.
